Tomintoul distillery was built in 1960 by W & S Strong and Hay & Macleod, two whisky broking firms from Glasgow.
Angus Dundee recently bought the distillery from Whyte and Mackay, and have impressed us with their early bottlings and fair pricing of some fine malt whiskies.
Great nose with honey, toffee, rich spice and a whole range of citrus characters. Lots of berry fruits and bakery notes. Super smooth in the mouth with tremendous oak backing. Beautiful balance of all components. This bottling has finesse, fruit and floral character, with a balance of vanilla and sherry character
