Single malt whisky is a whisky made at one particular distillery from a mash that uses one particular malted grain, which is ordinarily barley. Single malts are typically associated with Scotland, though they are also produced in various other countries. Under the Scotch Whisky Regulations, a "Single Malt Scotch Whisky" must be made exclusively from malted barley and must be distilled using a pot still and must be aged for at least three years in oak casks of a capacity not exceeding 700 liters. This beautiful malt is first matured in ex-bourbon casks, from a family run cooperage in Kentucky. It is then finished in new American oak barrels. Only local Scottish barley is used to craft Deanston and a pure water source from the banks of the River Teith.

Our 25 year old has also been re-introduced as an un-chillfiltered spirit, with natural color, a higher strength of 46.3% and is delivered in a smoked oak glass bottle. Its labelling is on aged parchment and it finds its bed in an Alder wooden box lined with Hessian and closed with solid brass fittings.

Ardbeg Ten Year Old is a very special bottling for the Ardbeg distillery as it is the first non-chill filtered whisky in the Ardbeg range. Typically, most whiskies are chill-filtered and reduced to a strength of 40% abv. Ardbeg 10 year old however, is non chill-filtered and has a strength of 46% abv. thus retaining maximum flavor.
