Glentauchers
Built: 1897.
Current Owner: Pernod Ricard.
Production Capacity: 4,500,000 litres.
House style: Often dry, with a sweet, malty spiciness.
Built on a field of the Tauchers farm four miles from Keith on the Mulben road. One of the original owners of the distillery was James Buchanan of Black and White fame. The company merged with DCL in 1925. Prior to World War I the distillery was involved with experiments in continuous malt production. The distillery was rebuilt between 1965 and 1966 when a new mashhouse and tun room were added. The number of stills trebled from two to six. The distillery was closed in 1985 but was reopened in 1989 when it was sold to Allied Distillers.

This whisky has a rich golden color, with hints of orchard fruits on the nose. On the palate you will find notes of sweet caramel and ripe grapes. The finish is long with smooth red fruit flavors. Great Dram to be shared on any occasion.
