Since 1826, the Pulteney Distillery has crafted a Single Malt Scotch Whisky that is the very essence of its remarkable location. In the very far north of Scotland, by Wick’s historic harbor, the quietly maturing spirit lies in hand-selected oak casks, slowly capturing the unique character of this stunning landscape with its long seafaring history. Old Pulteney
Pronounced: Pult-nay.
Built:1826.
Current Owner: Inver House Distillers Limited.
Production Capacity: 1,000,000 litres
House style: A gorgeously soft, fruity easy-drinking whisky, with a possible salty tang.
One of Royal Mile Whiskies' best selling malts, Old Pulteney is an under-rated whisky. The Distillery was built in 1826 in the town of Wick (or Pulteneytown), close to John o' Groats in the far North of Scotland.
It has been in the hands of Inver House Distillers since 1995 who have produced the current single malt. It has been well worth the effort.

Colour: Golden amber with straw highlights. Nose: Full bodied with traces of fruits (apples and pears); slightly fragrant with spicy overtones. Palate: Sweet to start with a light fruitiness; hints of honey and vanilla followed by a dry finish.
