Blended malt Scotch whisky is a mix of two or more single malt Scotch whiskies. Unlike blended Scotch whisky there is no grain whisky to be found amongst the blend. Formerly known as ‘vatted malt’ or ‘pure malt’, the Scotch Whisky Regulations of 2009 rendered these terms unlawful. Don’t let the Scotch Whisky Association spoil your fun though - drink them, enjoy them and call them whatever you want! There are some wonderful blended malts out there to try.
